Josh Dolgin

Josh Dolgin is a pianist, producer, composer, arranger, rapper, singer, journalist, photographer, filmmaker, magician, cartoonist and puppet maker based in Montreal, Quebec. The subject of “The Socalled Movie”, a feature documentary produced by the National Film Board of Canada, he has been making records and touring the world for over a decade. After several solo albums including, The Socalled Seder and  2007′s “Ghettoblaster”, which featured the breakout hits, “The Good Old Days” and “You Are Never Alone”, it is time for  “Sleepover”. “Sleepover” featuring over 30 incredible guests, is the further articulation of a mission to cross boundaries, to mix old and new sounds, acoustic and electric instruments, digital and analog recording techniques, while exploring different cultures and styles, all in the service of creating something catchy, smart, hilarious, emotional and timeless.

Shtreiml

Founded in 2002, Montreal/Philly-based Shtreiml offers a high-octane mix of not-so-traditional Eastern-European Jewish and Turkish music. Led by harmonica innovator Jason Rosenblatt, one of the few people worldwide who can play the diatonic harmonica (a.k.a. blues harp) chromatically, Shtreiml’s blues-rock infused set delivers a new look at some centuries old folk music. Joined by Rachel Lemisch (trombone), Thierry Arsenault (drums) and Joel Kerr (bass). The group’s set has been labeled “explosive” (Halifax Chronicle Herald) and “exhilarating” (Rootsworld). Shtreiml has performed at festivals and venues in Canada, The U.S. and Europe.

Fanfare Severni

Fanfare Severni (Northern Fanfare) burns through an unrelenting play list of the most heart-pounding, foot-stomping brass band music Eastern Europe has to offer. And, it does so with both authenticity and vivacity. Founded in 2009 by a group of Montreal-based musicians who share an affinity for the high-energy brass band repertoire of the Klezmer, Moldavian and Serbian traditions, this band always leaves it audience with great cheer and sore feet.
